I’m always on the lookout for sites and lessons that actually help me to better play the guitar as well as help my students. Here are some excellent resources.

My Pledge To You: Everything on this page has is here because I personally have tried it and I like it. It’s that simple.

  • 50blues.com
  • I’m always on the lookout for good blues backup tracks for practice. 50blues.com has 50 of them. They sound great and are a blast to play with. Highly recommended!

  • Guitartricks.com
  • Guitartricks.com has been online since the 1990′s and I have to say they are probably the best all around guitar lesson site on the web. With something for everyone, all styles and levels, and at only $12.95 a month membership, Guitartricks.com is an incredible value. They offer free video guitar lessons so you can check them out and be sure to sign up for their free newsletter.

  • Playing Through The Blues
  • Playing Through The Blues is an excellent course that takes you step by step through all of the elements of blues guitar. It has excellent jam tracks and a friendly, easy to follow style. I think it is one of the best guitar courses out there.

  • Guitar Scale Mastery
  • An excellent course that focuses entirely on mastering the guitar scales all over the fretboard. A very intuitive approach that helps you to actually play all those ideas you hear in your head when you close you eyes. Terrific bonus items and a great deal for a three year membership.

  • Pentatonic Power
  • A great lead guitar course that covers a lot more than advertised. Great bonuses and a terrific deal for someone who wants to take their soloing to a high level. Check this one out!

  • Riffmaster Pro
  • An awesome tool that slows down recorded music without changing the pitch, change the key, loop the recording so you can hone in on the lick you want, and more. Great for figuring out those tasty licks of your guitar heroes. They offer a 10 day free trial, so be sure to give it a try.
